Pregnancy Announcement!

Exciting news to share today! My husband and I are expecting a new addition to our family, and surprisingly it’s NOT another cat! =)

We found out the news in early January, and we’ve been keeping this a secret until we felt comfortable telling people. I am 15 weeks along, and just had an appointment with my doctor on Friday. We heard the little heartbeat pumping away and everything is going great!

My due date of September 12th is actually perfect timing. It will be right after the busy wedding season has died down, so it won’t affect any of my current client projects. I plan to continue taking clients with wedding dates up to October since those orders will need to be completed by early August (well before my due date). Then I will take a few months off right after having the baby.

Here’s a picture with my two kitties Abby (left) and Macy (right). They are so excited to become big sisters =)

We feel very blessed and excited to start a family! Thank you for sharing our excitement with us!

Envelopments Dealer

I can’t express how devastated I was to find out that Paper Zone was closing. I shopped there several times a week, and had built relationships with most of the employees there. They closed all 8 of their stores throughout Oregon and Washington, and I was not the only one who was sad about this. Apparently they had been steadily losing money for the past several years, to the point where they could no longer stay open. It’s so important to shop local and support our community!

Paper Zone was one of the only places where you could find a large amount of specialty paper, envelopes, and pocketfolds to create invitations or stationery projects for your event. The only other option is trekking up to Portland, which isn’t always ideal.

Early this year, I became a licensed dealer of Envelopments specialty paper products, and I am able to sell almost all the same stationery products that Paper Zone carried. If you need anything from paper, envelopes, liners, favor boxes, pocketfolds…etc, I would be happy to help you place an order!

This is a great option for the DIY’ers who love creating stationery projects, or for the crafty bride on a budget who would prefer to design her own invitations. Even though I design invitations, I’m happy to just sell you the paper. No obligation to use my design services unless you need design help. I can’t replace Paper Zone, but hopefully I can help you order your favorite paper products.

Be sure to visit the Envelopments website to check out all their products and pricing. If you would like more information about Envelopments, feel free to contact me, and I would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Tiffanie + Rod: Waterfall Invitation

We’ve had such nice weather this past week in Oregon, and unfortunately… the dreaded rain is back. This inspired me to showcase an invitation from this past November that features a waterfall graphic. This particular couple got engaged next to Henline Falls which is just east of Salem. Since that moment signified the beginning of their wedding journey, we thought it would be very fitting to carry this theme throughout their stationery as well.

Their set included the invitation, reply postcard, and the outer envelope with custom address labels. They wanted their invitations to be very simple and incorporate their dark blue wedding color. Tiffanie and Rod loved the finished product!

My husband and I hiked around Silver Falls back in September, so I took Tiffanie and Rod’s invitations to photograph with the falls in the background. I’m so glad I did because I love how these photos turned out.

They also requested a large sign to place outside of their wedding venue to direct guests to the appropriate location for the ceremony and reception. For their favors, they did a candy bar and ordered die-cut stickers to place on the cellophane bags. These next two pictures were photographed by their wedding photographer McCloud Photography!

After the wedding, I received a wonderful 5-star review from Tiffanie! They were an amazing couple to work with and I wish them all the best.

Red Pearl Design created our beautiful wedding invitations and stationery. Megan helped us create a unique theme based on the waterfall we were engaged under. Megan is easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I give Red Pearl Designs my full recommendation for any graphic design and stationery needs without hesitation! Thanks again Megan for helping us create our perfect day!” – Tiffanie

Oregon Wedding Showcase Booth

This past weekend I had a booth at the Oregon Wedding Showcase in Salem, which marked my 3rd year doing this particular show. This year I decided to go ALL OUT, so I upgraded from my previous “mini booth” to a large corner booth. To showcase my invitations, I used white Billy Bookcases from Ikea and added the individual shelf lighting from Home Depot.

I purchased the grey linens and green napkins myself, but most everything else was a rented or borrowed item. Sue Hamilton from SHE Designs saved the day by having two silver chiavari chairs (which are hard to find in Salem), and she also rented me lots of decor pieces.

My bistro table and half round table were rentals from A to Z Party Rental here in Salem.

The plates, silverware and crystal glasses were rentals from Shirley Kavanaugh at Crossroads Linens.

All the flowers were done by Rebecca Butler of Belle Fleur Floral Design, who also loaned me the majority of the vases used to hold the flowers. I knew Rebecca would do a great job, but I was completely blown away! The flowers made my display even prettier and more welcoming for people.

All the old books were borrowed from my friend Ashley Reynoso. They were great for adding height and interest to my bookshelves!

I had a drawing for $125.00 towards wedding invitations at the show. The winner is Kristen McDaniel from Canby Oregon!!! Congrats!

And there you have it, the complete tour of my booth! I had SO much help from friends and family over the weekend, and I couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you Ashley Reynoso for helping me setup all day on Friday! Thank you Ashley Porter for assisting me in my booth on Saturday in talking to brides and giving me a lunch break =) Thanks to Brianne Cameron, Marcus Dutton, and my mother-in-law Annie Ward for helping tear down my booth on Sunday evening!! And most of all, thanks to my HUSBAND!! He spent many many hours building my bookshelves, installing the lighting, picking up a trailer to get all my rentals, bringing us lunch, hauling in my computer screen every morning… and so much more. I’m one lucky girl!!
