Studio 430 Before & After Transformation

One of my FAVORITE things is seeing before & after room transformations. I’m obsessed with TV shows like Sarah’s House, Dear Genevieve, and pretty much anything on HGTV. I have to say… I’m so proud of the transformation of our downtown studio space. As you can see from the “before” picture below, it was QUITE the remodel which included brand new floors, a paint job, adding trim, a new back door, spot lighting, window decals, all the furniture and wall art. The finished space turned out better than we could have ever imagined!! Let me take you on a tour of our finished space…

A lot of hard work, collaboration and creativity went into this remodel. It was worth every second because it looks AWESOME!

Our table was found at Engelberg’s Antiks for $45 dollars that we re-painted a creamy white for a fresh look

The chairs were from Stars Antique’s in Sellwood and had already been re-purposed by the vendor with new paint and upholstery

The hutch was a craigslist find for $50 that we repainted creamy white and added new knobs from World Market

Here is a detail shot of the hutch decorations – a perfect spot to display our products and examples

One of the biggest changes was adding the new flooring, wouldn’t you agree?

This was an $18 dollar find from Serendipity which is a vintage furniture store in Salem. It’s the perfect holder of all our marketing materials!

The vintage dresser was also from Engelberg’s Antiks, the ornate mirror was from TJ Maxx, and the bench seat was a clearance find from Real Deal’s.

The rod iron console table was loaned to us, and Ashley splurged on the flatscreen TV for her client order meetings. Pretty spiffy =)

Since this is a shared space for three separate businesses, we chose to do individual collages to display our work. With this Ring (left), Ashley Sturm Photography (middle), Red Pearl Designs (right). If you love the frames, contact Ashley to order a collage of your own =)

There you have it… our studio transformation from start to finish! I feel so blessed to have this amazing space as a place to meet with my current and future clients. A big thanks to all the people who helped during the remodel, especially my wonderful husband! I would love to hear your feedback about the space, leave a comment below letting me know your thoughts or any questions!

Welcome to the new blog!

Well folks, I finally made the switch to a WordPress blog and I am LOVING it. My old blog was very limiting in what I could do which was frustrating to say the least, and overall just no good. I’m looking forward to using my new blog ALL.THE.TIME, so be sure to subscribe to my feed (using the subscribe link in the main menu). I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback about my new blog!!

With this Ring Die Cut Business Cards

Not only do I have the pleasure of sharing a studio space with Katie Zuniga of With this Ring, but I also got to design her new logo and business cards! After I finished developing the logo, Katie had the brilliant idea to have her business cards printed using a custom die cut to mirror the border of her design.

The finished cards look INCREDIBLE!! I believe these cards will make a huge impact on her current and potential clients showing she’s a force to be reckoned with in the wedding industry!

Leave a comment below or on Facebook if you love Katie’s new cards! =)

Introducing Summer Intern – Holly Amlin

I am so happy to introduce Holly Amlin, my 2011 Summer Intern!

Starting June 7, she’ll be assisting me with everything from design, client relations, to marketing online and off. We’ll also be designing invitations for HER upcoming November wedding! Holly is very professional and really knows her stuff. So let’s get to know her =)

Holly will be graduating with a degree in Graphic Design from Chemeketa College in June. When it comes to visual arts, she favors photography, illustration and layout design. She also loves fashion, interior decorating, music, movies and candy!

Since i’m a reality tv addict myself, I asked Holly about her top favorite shows. Her favorite reality TV show is Project Runway because she loves to see people create beautiful clothes on a tight budget. A guilty TV pleasure is Jerseylicious because “They do hair and makeup, and are completely captivating. I know it’s silly, but I can’t look away!”.

A random tidbit about Holly is that she’s been, and still is, a picky eater most of her life, so she eats a lot of bland foods. She says that most people are shocked that she doesn’t even like ketchup!

Finally, Holly loves traveling to the beach, because “Everything is windblown, weathered, and laid back.” Well said, Holly!

A big welcome to Red Pearl Designs, Holly! We’re going to have a fabulous summer! =)
