Kristy + Chris: Whimsical Invitation Set

One of my favorite parts about being a stationery designer, is seeing the finished product come together after months of finalizing all the little details! I first met with Kristy at the beginning of this year, where we discussed her wedding style, colors, and brainstormed ideas for her stationery. Her theme was very whimsical with touches of vintage elements throughout. I was inspired by a photo of a bouquet she showed me that had a variety of peonies and garden roses which were all very light and fluffy. Her color choices were pale pink, light orange, soft green and ivory.

The talented Erich McVey Photography captured Kristy and Chris’s wedding. Here are some shots of the stationery taken on their special day…

I’m head-over-heels in LOVE with Kristy’s bouquet. Absolutely gorgeous!

Shown on the left below is the program I designed for their ceremony

Kristy asked me to create custom wine labels, shown below:

These next shots were taken by my dear friend Ashley Sturm Photography at my most recent portfolio shoot.

It was such a pleasure working with Kristy throughout this past year, and a huge congrats on their marriage. They were just married on July 9th at the Log House Garden in Keizer, Oregon (which is a beautiful outdoor venue!)

Thank you again to both photographers {Erich McVey Photography} and {Ashley Sturm Photography} for providing me with such amazing images of this invitation set! To see more images from this gorgeous wedding, visit Erich’s blog.

LOVE this whole suite, Megan! It is beyond beautiful… can you convert it into a wallpaper for our guest bedroom? :)

Oregon Bride Magazine Best of 2011 Party

Recently I attended the Oregon Bride Magazine “Best of 2011″ Party, where they announce all the winners who were voted best in their category. I’m SO honored to announce that Red Pearl Designs won “Best Invites” in the Willamette Valley for the 2nd year in a row!! They received a staggering 1,500 votes from people all throughout Oregon, and I’m so thankful for everyone who voted for me!

Here is a video of me accepting the award from Associate Publisher Heather Matheny.

Each year they also have a special awards section for the Editor’s Picks, and our studio was voted “Best New Team” which is super exciting! Here is the little write up straight from the magazine:

“The new downtown Salem studio is home to four talented wedding professionals: stationery designer Megan Ward’s Red Pearl Designs (our Best Invites winner!), planner Katie Zuniga’s With This Ring (our Best New Wedding Vendor winner!), photographer Ashley Porter, who captures every couple’s beauty and sense of fun, and Bridal Alterations by Mary to make sure every detail is all sewn up. Any bride that teams up with Studio 430 will feel totally confident with this troupe of creative professionals on her side.”

Editor, Liz Hummer announcing the awards.

Here I am with Associate Publisher Heather Matheny accepting the award.

Some shots of the fabulous decor at the event. I loved the pop of orange throughout, and the amazing treats table!

After the awards ceremony, they had a top notch fashion show featuring real Oregon Brides!

My intern Holly Amlin came to support! There she is in the lower left corner watching the fashion show. Way to score front row seats! =)

Thanks again to everyone who voted. Your support means everything to me!!

3 Year Wedding Anniversary

Somehow it’s already been THREE years since the day I married my wonderful husband on July 19th, 2008. We had big plans this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary, but the unexpected rain through us for a loop. Instead of a romantic picnic and hike at Silver Falls, or a stroll through the Salem Art Fair… we settled on a trip to the theatre to watch Transformers 3. I know, hardly romantic, but still fun!

Then we hit Bently’s for a bite to eat after the movie. After I enjoyed my 1.25 lemon drops, the restaurant started to spin, so we felt that was a good time to head home to spend the rest of the evening on the couch.

I’m so grateful that all through my childhood, my mom prayed every night that I would find a loving, honest, hard-working, God-centered man to someday become my husband. I’m so grateful that prayer was answered =) I love you Ryan! Happy Anniversary!

Here is a photo from our wedding, and a recent photo from the Oregon Bride Event a few weeks ago. We still got it!!;-)

Travis and Danae: Mad Lib Pocketfold

I first met Danae and her mom Marsha at the Oregon Wedding Showcase back in January, and a few months later began designing her invitations. Danae wanted a simple design with a bold yet elegant script font, and she wanted all the pieces to be nicely tucked inside a pocketfold. Her set included an invitation with vista blue matting, reply postcard, information/custom map, purple pocketfold, and a metallic white outer envelope with the return address printed centered on the back flap.

Danae loved the idea of doing a Mad Lib style reply card, where her guests fill in the blanks with parts of speech to create their unique response.

It was wonderful working with Danae and her mom Marsha, they were both SO sweet! Her wedding is only a mere two weeks away, and I’m so excited for her and Travis to tie the knot =)

We loved working with you Megan! We were going through some of our wedding stuff recently and were still amazed at how beautiful the invitation sets came out. You are so creative – thank you so much!

Laura and Paul: Peacock Invitation Set

I’m always so honored to get invitation requests from brides all around the country! This time I had the pleasure of working with Laura Spenner who lived in Texas and was planning to have their wedding in Millers Tavern, Virgina.

As you can see in the photographs below, peacocks were their inspiration and Laura wanted a small peacock silhouette to make an appearance on the invitations. The set included the invitation, response postcard and an information / direction insert jam packed with helpful tidbits since most of their guests would be out-of-towners flying in for the wedding.

The reply postcard and information insert (which included the nearest airport, hotel suggestions, a custom map and their wedding website)

This invitation set is now available in my Etsy Shop here! Contact me for pricing information by emailing info@redpearldesigns.com.
